Synopsis
Bilitis is the beautiful story of a young girl, gradually responding to her awakening desires. She is confused by the new sensations and emotions that arouse her, so she seeks to understand her new awareness, the discovery of her own sexuality. She is bewildered as she takes her first hesitant steps, to leave her innocence behind.
David Hamilton was born in London in 1933, and currently lives in an 800 year old house near St Tropez, France. Mr Hamilton studied architecture and interior design before turning to typography and layout. While he was art director of the English review "Queen," he bought his first camera. Later settling in Paris as art director of "Printemps," he began devoting himself exclusively to photography. He has worked for the best centrefold magazines, including "Vogue," "Realites," "Esquire'" "Penthouse/Photo World," "Twen," "Playboy," and "Lui." His work has been shown throughout the world and at the "Photokina" exhibition he was hailed as one of the world's "four masters of erotic photography."The images from this movie are instantly recognised as David hamilton's. The soft, fluent style reflects the beauty and innocent sexuality of young girls blossoming into womanhood. Hamilton's images directly combine the romantic with the erotic in a stunning visual presentation of femininity and beauty.
