Synopsis
Reaching the summit of Everest is considered the ultimate climbing challenge, but it is a notoriously perilous undertaking. At 26,000 feet, 24 hours from the summit, climbers enter what is known as the Death Zone, where the air has just one-third the oxygen it has at sea level. With Everest veterans Russell Brice and Eric Simonson as team leaders, this thrill-a-minute series follows one amazing individual per episode as they attempt to scale the highest peak on Earth. People like NASA astronaut Scott Parazynski, who has clocked up 47 hours walking in space but just failed to conquer Everest last year, and David Tait as he attempts one of the most ambitions climbs of all time: a world record double traverse of the mountain without bottled oxygen.
