Utilizing rare performance footage, archival posters, and interviews with family and friends including Hank Williams Jnr, George Jones, Roy Acuff and Anita Carter, this highly acclaimed documentary charts the highs and low of Hanks tumultuous, ground breaking career, from his farm boy upbringing learning blues guitar from black street musicians in Alabama, through his stellar rise to the top of the country charts and Grand Ole Opry billing, to his final years when alcohol abuse and chronic back problems reduced him to playing local beer halls.
