Synopsis
Based on William Wharton's wartime novel, A Midnight Clear explores the psychological journey of men at war, making sense of the morality and humanity between the bloodshed. As World War II nears its end, a group of exhausted American soldiers take residence in a deserted house on the Franco-German border their mission - to report enemy activity within the area. It is not long before they discover a Nazi camp containing an equally exhausted and frightened group of soldiers, waving a white flag of truce and holding up a mirror of lost innocence that the young soldiers can truly relate to. But no sooner do the soldiers share their experiences of survival, unifying their resolve, than the omni potent threat of warfare rears its head to tear their short-lived peace apart. A captivating study of peace in wartime A Midnight Clear boasts a stellar ensemble cast, featuring Gary Sinise (CSI: NY), Ethan Hawke (Daybreakers), Peter Berg (Collateral) and Kevin Dillon (Entourage).
